With President Trump’s new tariffs on imports from nearly every country (and uninhabited island on Earth), the response by global markets has been immediate and dramatic.
In just two days – from April 2 to 4, 2025 – the S&P 500 index dropped over 10%.
To put that into perspective, it was the 5th largest two-day decrease in the index since May 14, 1940.
The only recent ‘events’ that surpass it are the collapses of 1987 (Reagan), 2008 (Bush), and of course 2020 (Trump I).
But could the winning continue, and we experience a record-breaking three-day streak of historic losses?
